Hail, noble denizens of Townsville! Prepare your shields, sharpen your swords, and brace yourselves for an epic clash of steel and valor! The Mercenaries of Western Europe are riding forth from distant lands, their banners unfurled, their armor gleaming, and their battle cries echoing through time. They are not mere reenactors; they are living legends. Clad in chainmail and surcoats, they embody the spirit of early medieval warriors—from the 5th to the 11th century. Their camp breathes life into history, with tents pitched, fires crackling, and the scent of authenticity in the air.
Hark, noble townsfolk! Gather 'round the forge, for a masterful blacksmith shall grace our festival with their fiery craft. Behold, Northern Iron Forge, a venerable artisan steeped in the ancient arts of hammer, anvil, and molten metal. Northern Iron Forge is a Locally Owned Blacksmith/Knifemaker and Veteran, Handcrafting Functional Art, Tools and decorative pieces from Steel, Iron and Leather. A true kin to our fair land, they forge their creations with pride and passion.
Batten down your hatches and prepare to weigh anchor! Whiskey Boat, a Far North Queensland rock shanty band, lures you like a sirens call. The lasses from Whiskey Boat, and their token manservant bassist, ensures a toe tapping experience with spilling harmonies, ballads of old, and heart starter jigs. Whiskey Boat, with their nautical theme, have created driving rhythms,catchy hooks and with their blend of acoustic instruments such as soaring flute and tin whistle, vibrant violin that weave amongst three-part harmonies creates a dynamic sound that is both familiar and fresh.
Behold Duo Sapphire : Ethereal Acrobatic Aerialists! In the grand tapestry of our Festival, Duo Sapphire emerges like a gilded flourish upon the stage. Their ethereal performances, a symphony of grace and strength, shall transport thee to a realm where the laws of gravity yield to their artistry. Amanda and Laura, these enchantresses of the air, weave their magic amidst the bustling streets of our festival. With a fusion of artistry and energy, Amanda and Laura captivate audiences with their mesmerizing performances around Townsville at community and corporate events.

The Bards of Yore: Behold, 33 1/3, those minstrels who straddle realms, their feet planted firmly in both history and imagination. From the cobblestone streets of medieval villages to the starlit meadows of fantasy realms, their melodies resonate. These troubadours have wandered the festival circuit, their footsteps leaving echoes. From the Townsville Folk Festival to the mystical Palm Creek Folk Festival, they’ve danced with dragons and whispered secrets to unicorns. Their melodies have even graced the Northern Australia Festival of Arts, where wizards and artists convene.

Enchantment Unleashed: From the heart of our fair city, Qamara emerges—a fusion dance group like no other. Their movements, a tapestry woven from realms beyond, defy earthly conventions. Verily, let this special event etch itself upon thy memory. Share the magic, spread the word, and let Qamara’s dance ignite the fires of imagination.
Tahmalpa Belly Dance, a new and spirited troupe hailing from Townsville, invites you to step into a world where ancient magic comes alive through dance. Their dance style, inspired by the Global Caravan Tribal Dance, weaves together stylized moves from diverse cultures across the world. From the sands of North Africa to the vibrant streets of Morocco, India’s mystique, and the fiery passion of Spanish Flamenco, Tahmalpa Belly Dance brings it all to the stage.

Nicky, a seasoned performer with over two decades of experience, brings forth a veritable kaleidoscope of whimsy to every gathering. Her heart beats in rhythm with the crowd, and her passion lies in conjuring interactive and mirthful characters that dance betwixt the realms of reality and enchantment.
Hark, noble lords and gracious ladies! Let your senses be transported to the sun-kissed hills of Granada as we present the captivating Zambra Mora Troupe from Global Dance Collective! Journey to the Middle Ages: From the heart of ancient Spain emerges the Zambra, a dance of the Romani people in Granada. The Romani Zambra was born in Sacromonte, in the caves of the Romani people. A style of song and dance inspired by the local Muslim weddings.
Prima Spada is a school of historical swordplay with schools across Queensland. They offer classes in Historical fencing for both performance and competition with a range of weapons, including rapier and the Renaissance sidesword with companion weapons, two-handed sword, and smallsword; Classical modern fencing with foil, epee and sabre; and Artistic fencing. Whether you aspire to be a gallant knight, a cunning rogue, or a legendary hero, Prima Spada ensures there’s something for everyone.
